Barnes and Nobles

It's no secret that one of my favorite places to go on the weekend is Barnes and Nobles at the Town Center. I believe in libraries and bookstores. Today I went in knowing some of the books that a few of our friends like to read. It is so important that they know the names of authors and series that they enjoy reading. I bought a few more copies of our read aloud, some series books, and some individual books with varying subject matter!
I appreciate the gift card I received at the end of the year and the one donated at the beginning of this year. They sure helped!
Our children are readers! Levels do not matter. Literature in their hands that they enjoy and can comprehend...matters. Thank you for supporting us in this endeavor!

Treasure Chest

Last Friday we were bombarded with "Monkey Bucks" for good behavior! We fill our "Treasure Chest" with mostly items from the Dollar Tree, but man, they are fun. If a child's name is drawn they can go select from the chest! Thank you for all the donations. We truly believe we have the most polite, well mannered group of children in the building. It's not because of the prizes, but they sure make Friday afternoons sweeter!

Fire Drill Practice

Today we had a practice fire drill. We handled it beautifully and followed directions perfectly. Safety is our number one priority at Chets Creek.

First Day in the Land of Walande!

Up, up and away! There's no place like home! On our first day back, Mrs. Phillips arranged for a hot air balloon to be at our school! We watched it fill with air and then watched Mrs. Phillips, Dorothy, aka Mrs. Williams, Mr. Ralph and the pilot rise in the air. How lucky we are!
