Spy Journal Ideas

We have been beginning our mornings by writing in our spy journals. One of the things we can write about is things we observe. I brought this exoskeleton in for the class to see. It had been on our stucco house for about two weeks. I had no idea what it was. The children knew immediately, or guessed. We researched in class and it is the exoskeleton of a beetle.
Our goal for them as readers and writers is to be curious. To live life with a wide awake mind. Notice, question and discuss the world around them!
